Overview
TheraSuit Method® is
now offered in at our
outpatient clinic in
Oakland, California. Our
Physical therapists are
trained and certified to
develop an individualized
therapy program that
maximizes your child’s
function and quality of
life. This method is
designed to train the
brain and body to work
together, utilizing high
repetition of movement
patterns in each session.
TMIP includes a three-hour
session, five days a week,
for three weeks.
A Daily session includes:
- Warm up (hot packs)
and massage (myofacial
release)
- Neuro-developmental
techniques and sensory
integration techniques
- Stretching &
strengthening
exercises
- Balance,
coordination, and
endurance training
- Transfers,
functional activities,
and gait training
Candidates for
this Method:
- Children 2 ½
years old and young
adults
- Children with
neurological conditions
including Cerebral
Palsy, developmental
delay, traumatic brain
injury, stroke, muscle
tone disorders, spinal
cord injury, Spina
Bifida, etc.
- Children in need of
post-op rehabilitation
such as post tendon
releases, Botox,
rhizotomy, etc.
- Children with genetic
disorders; e.g. Down
Syndrome
- Children with sensory
processing disorders

Obtain a prescription for
Intensive Physical Therapy
for three hours per day,
five days per week.
A modified program is also
available (2 hours per day
once or twice per week).
What to Expect
during a Session:
- Baby Builders’
TheraSuit® Program
is 3-hours a day, 5 days
a week (Monday through
Friday) for 3 weeks.
- Each session consists
of approximately two 80
minutes (1hr.20 min.) of
Physical Therapy with a
15-20 minute break: for
rest, bathroom, eating a
healthy snack/drink as
provided by parent(s).
- The program begins
with a the use of moist
heat and soft tissue
work as well as other
therapeutic techniques
to assist in stretching
and strengthening the
muscles.
- TheraSuit® Program
components are: the
Universal Exercise Unit,
the TheraSuit®, and
the “Spider”/Exercise
Cage.
- This method is
designed to train the
brain and body to work
together, utilizing high
repetition of movement
patterns in each
session.
- Our intensive program
challenges your child,
helping them to make
maximal gains in
strength and function in
a short amount of time.
- Parent/caregiver
participation is
integrated into the
daily therapy program
thought emotional and
physical support.
- The last week of
TheraSuit® Program,
the caregiver is
required to be available
to attend each of the
final five sessions to
receive instruction,
take notes, videos or
pictures of their child
home program.
