Baby Builders Pediatric Therapy Services, a private agency devoted to serving children birth to three and their families in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, is currently looking for a skilled Infant Development Specialist/Early Interventionist to provide home-based services for developmentally delayed children from 0-3 years of age. Spanish speaking is desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct services to children as an Infant Development Specialist/Early Interventionist at their homes, in their natural environments

  • Develop a treatment plan and provide services that best address the child's needs

  • Collaborate in an interdisciplinary team: speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, parents and caregivers

  • Establish and maintain weekly visits of your assigned children

  • Provide infant's parents with in-home therapeutic activities that enable the child to attain their milestones

  • Maintain an appropriate instructional/supportive rapport with parents

  • Complete documentation of services provided and required statistical reports

  • Generate timely assessment reports and written reports for IFSPs for each child

  • Attend IFSP, IEP and transition meetings when requested

  • Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings

  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • BA or MA (preferred) in child development, special education, developmental psychology, social work or related field

  • With degree in related fields, must have at least 12 semester units in Child Development

  • At least 2 years experience working with infants and toddlers and at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities 0-3 years of age

  • Experience working with parents and sensitivity to families' needs.

  • Valid CA license and proof of current automobile insurance

  • Reliable transportation

  • Obtain and maintain your own Professional Liability Insurance

  • Motivated, professional, creative, positive, reliable, and caring individual with effective communication skills (oral and written)

  • Good organizational skills

  • Experience setting goals and administering developmental assessments

  • Ability to work independently, yet also function as a team member

  • Knowledge of the early intervention service system

  • Knowledge of natural environments philosophy and service delivery models
